So, I stopped writing again. What I think I'm going to do is start a video diary and just link it here, I prefer editing videos to writing anyway. Coming soon!

September 23

I fell down the GTA V hole and couldn't get out for a few days. What a game.

Literally nothing has happened, all I've done is work and play that damn game.

I had my first day teaching at work yesterday, it seems really difficult. I don't know the books or the material or the students, and I'm supposed to be following a teaching guide but I only get told what to do like 20 minutes before classes start so I don't have a lot of time to prepare, plus the teachers aren't in the office much so I have to figure everything out for myself. I'll get it eventually, it's just kind of overwhelming right now.

I also found out there are 36 different classes of 12-18 students, so I have to learn like 400 names or something in the next few weeks.

All part of the fun I guess.

I have to work this Friday and Saturday, so the trip to the island is cancelled. Work on Saturday starts at 9AM, so I have to get up at like 6 to make sure I'm there in time to prepare for classes and stuff. Madness.

GTA V is out on PSN already even though it's not in Taiwan until tomorrow. It's bought and downloaded, it was installing when I left for work. I guess I'll play a couple of hours tonight and then get up early tomorrow and play before work, then Thursday is a holiday so hopefully I can play all day if Linda goes to Kaohsiung.

I keep fucking up the time I need to leave for work, I'm going to be like 90 minutes early or something today. Stupid.

September 16

I had a pretty relaxing weekend. My PVR came, so I made a few videos for Youtube. Every time I try to do something with my computer there's a problem, this time it was that the drivers for the PVR were incompatible with Vegas, so I had to roll back to older drivers to get it to work, took about a minute to fix, but an hour and a half to figure out what the problem was in the first place.

I've been messing around with a few different formats, I'm not very good at live commentary so I guess I should go with scripted stuff. But at the same time, I don't want it to sound like I'm just reading off a script, so maybe I'll try post commentary with bullet points of stuff I want to cover next?

GTA V comes out tomorrow, which means it comes out here on Wednesday, but I'm supposed to be going away on Thursday so I won't get to play until Friday night.

I'm supposed to be signing my contract at Joy today, I haven't seen it yet so hopefully it's all in order. If I don't agree to the terms, I've basically wasted over a week with regards to job hunting.

I think it's Moon Festival this weekend, so I might be getting Thursday and Friday off, if so I'll go to some island or something with Linda. She originally wanted to go to Kenting, but to the same town with the same night market we always go to so I can't really be bothered. Thete's no point going all that way to do the same old shit. So yeah, looks like I'll get to ride a boat, which I haven't done in ages.

September 13

I went back to Giraffe for the last time today, to pick up my stuff. I've been looking forward to it but also kind of dreading it too. It was pretty good, they let me go to all the classes to get class photos and stuff, and I saw a bunch of my students for the last time too. Gave out my facebook as well so I'll probably get a couple dozen kids adding me later.

No real plans for this weekend, I kind of want to do a bunch of Youtube stuff. I want a format that's easy to make, and also good. Let's plays are too much effort, live commentary is shit, so I need to think of another way to make these videos. An Ultraneko ripoff is probably my best idea but also a lot of work with editing and whatnot. Also it only really works with first impressions, so it's no good really for my existing games.

I guess I could always write something, then read it and record the audio and just have random gameplay in the background. I guess I'll give that a shot for my next video...maybe Grimrock or Super House of Dead Ninjas. Talking while playing either of those would fuck me up anyway.

September 12

I feel like my brain is melting. Too many new names and faces to remember all of them. My short term memory is fucked.

Working in a cram school is really easy but settling into the job is really hard.

I'm going back to Giraffe tomorrow to get the things I couldn't get because of the typhoon. It's been less than two weeks since I was there last but it seems like months. I really miss the kids, tomorrow will probably be the last time I see any of them. I'm looking forward to seeing them but also kinda sad.

I guess it'll be closure or something though. I really need to figure out how I'm going to remember all these new kids. Because seriously, there's like 300 or more names to learn.

September 11th

I found a new job, looks like I'll have time to keep up with the blog again. I take the bus to work now, and I can't play Vita on the bus because it makes me feel sick even though a phone is completely fine. I never usually get travel sick or have problems with videogames so it's strange.

I've decided I want to do something videogame related with my Youtube channel. I finished my shitty LP of Zombie Shooter, but it's so bad I had to set it to private. Now I have a huge backlog of games I want to make videos of, so I'm going to do that intersperced with new stuff too. Just PC games for now, but I ordered a PVR last night so PS3 footage is on the way soon.

I've also been watching a bunch of old UltraNeko vids, I may do a game show once my backlog is taken care of and just shamelessly copy the format. It's a great format for a show, shame she stopped.

In real-life stuff, I got a new job at Joy who are like the rival school to Giraffe. The kids are a little over the top, but that's kinda how I like it anyway so it's all good. Observing classes this week, maybe starting teaching next week. I really miss teaching classes haha. I don't know if it's adrenaline or what, I just love being up there in front of a class of kids for some reason.

September 1st

Well, looks like I'll have time to start writing again. My last day at my job was yesterday, don't have another one lined up.

I was looking forward to taking a little holiday, but now the reality of being unemployed is setting in I kinda want to find something soon.

Ugh, it's late. More tomorrow.

I guess I need to rethink how I'm going to do this. I bought a Vita to play on the train because my phone battery was always running low. But that means I'm playing Vita instead of writing this, so I'm not really updating that often. Maybe I'll try and write a few words when I get home or something.
